Todd Lehmann is the Chief Actuary and Vice President at Quincy Mutual Fire Insurance Company, with 25 years of actuarial experience. Prior to joining Quincy Mutual in May 2016, he spent 9 years as Vice President of Corporate Research and Analytics at One Beacon Insurance Group, focusing on predictive models for specialty commercial lines for ratemaking segmentation, profitability, reserving, and claim analysis. Todd began his career at State Farm in 1992, where he worked in pricing, and he also has worked in actuarial and product management roles at Allstate and Liberty Mutual.

In addition to predictive modeling and analytics, Todd’s background includes ratemaking and pricing analyses for personal and commercial lines, loss reserving analyses, enterprise risk management, economic capital modeling, catastrophe modeling, underwriting, and product development. Todd graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor’s degree in Finance.

He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS), a Certified Specialist in Predictive Analytics (CSPA), a Chartered Property-Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA). He chaired the Casualty Actuarial Society Committee on Ratemaking from 2008-2011, has served on the CAS Exam and Syllabus Committees, and currently chairs The CAS Institute (iCAS) Expert Panel on Predictive Analytics and participates on The CAS Institute’s Leadership Advisory Council.

Paul is a head of wholesale model development in the U.S. Global Risk Analytics team.  He has over 18 years of industry and consulting experience in financial risk management, credit portfolio management and credit risk modeling.  Since joining HSBC in 2010, Paul has led wholesale model validation/monitoring and governance in the first line of defense until his current role as a head of wholesale model development.  He is also responsible for the credit economic capital methodology.  Prior to joining HSBC, Paul, as a consultant at Ernst & Young and Rutter Associates, led a number of key industry studies and assisted major financial institutions in various assignments in the area of credit risk.  Paul also worked at Credit Suisse where he was responsible for measuring and managing economic capital and loan loss reserves for the bank’s corporate lending portfolio.  He has spoken at various conference venues including GARP and Moody’s RFP annual conferences and RMA training series, and has written articles for Risk and RMA journal.  Paul earned his degrees in Finance and Statistics from Rutgers University.

Dr. Hassibi is an expert, practitioner, and thought leader in the areas of data science, machine learning, and statistical pattern recognition. His expertise is based on twenty years of design, R&D, consulting/sales, and management in applying these technologies to hard real-world business problems such as real-time fraud detection, hand-print OCR, marketing, risk, preventive maintenance, and transactional customer behavior analysis. Dr. Hassibi is recognized for his contributions to real-time payment card fraud detection (FalconTM) and has been a part of four machine learning startups focused on new data products and analytics-based business solutions. Most recently and prior to joining R Systems as Chief Data Scientist, he has been with SAS Institute and Altice USA (formerly Cablevision) with his main interest focused on new big data analytics and machine learning applications in financial and telecommunication industries.

His scientific work ranged from research on digital imaging and data-driven clinical workflow to publishing and teaching advanced graduate courses at Harvard and other leading universities. On the applied side, Dr. Pianykh has served as a CIO for a state-wide healthcare network, CEO for Universal PACS Inc., and participated in many consulting/startup initiatives. Dr. Mallory Soldner has spent years researching how to do the most good with data.

In 2014, she earned her PhD in industrial engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Her thesis explored how to measure and improve humanitarian operations in practical ways – with a special focus on the use of algorithms.

While Mallory was in graduate school, she helped lead supply chain optimization projects for the UN World Food Programme.

Today, she is an advanced analytics manager at UPS, where she works on research and development projects and consults within the company.

She earned her master’s in operations research from MIT, and her bachelor’s in industrial and systems engineering from Virginia Tech.

In her free time, Mallory enjoys travelling, trying recipes from her travels and her time spent living in Italy, and combating stress with yoga and pilates.

Len Usvyat is a Vice President of Integrated Care Analytics with Fresenius Medical Care North America Medical Office. Len holds a Master’s Degree from the University of Pennsylvania and PhD from the University of Maastricht in Netherlands. He has over 14 years of experience in data management, analytics, research, and epidemiology. He is responsible for supporting analytical efforts for Fresenius’s integrated care assets such as its pharmacy, vascular care centers, urgent care facilities, hospitalist group, and the Fresenius health plan. Matthew Marolda is President of WarnerMedia Applied Analytics. Matt runs WarnerMedia’s Applied Analytics division, which uses data and analytics to drive strategic decisions across its operating divisions, including Warner Bros., Turner, and HBO. He joined WarnerMedia via its acquisition of Legendary Entertainment’s Applied Analytics division. Matt founded Applied Analytics and served as Legendary’s Chief Analytics Officer. His team employed a wide range of proprietary technology and analytics to run data-driven marketing campaigns for many television shows and movies, such as Godzilla, Krampus, and Kong: Skull Island, among others.

 Prior to Legendary, Matt founded StratBridge LLC, which had two software solutions: “moneyball” player analysis software used by many organizations in the NFL, NBA, European Football and Major League Soccer (sold to XOS Digital in 2012), and dynamic pricing and revenue analysis software used by many professional sports teams (acquired by Legendary in 2014, after he had joined Legendary). He earned his MBA at the Tuck School at Dartmouth where he won the Adams Award for Excellence in Entrepreneurship. He graduated from Bowdoin College with Honors, earning majors in economics and mathematics and a minor in art history.
